On October 16, Haitian artist Michael “MIKABEN” Benjamin collapsed on stage at the Accor Arena in Paris while attending a reunion concert for Haitians’s old popular band CARIMI. He died of an apparent cardiac arrest.
Just hours of his tragic death in front of more than 100,000 fans, his music streaming went over the top for World Music, marking a historic moment in the Haitian Music Industry, or HMI.
Recently, the legendary singer just earned his Siver Play Button Creator Award for surpassing 100,000 Subscribers on his Youtube channel. Before his passing, Mikaben carried close to 50,000 Subscribers.
Sadly Mikaben is not around anymore to receive his award. His untimely death contributed in reaching so many around the world who did not yet heard of him to come support his legacy and of course his family.
