OAS: Haiti could soon become a Dominican province

WASHINGTON, DC – A report by the Organization of American States (OAS)( l’Organisation des États américains (OEA), the migration crisis between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, the neighboring country could be solved by converting the latter in the 32 th province of the Dominican Republic.

According to the source providing the information, it indicates that Haiti could have a parliamentary representation of 10 senators in the Senate of the Dominican Republic extended.

Already now Haiti is divided into 10 departments, 41 districts and 133 municipalities. These services are part of the three provinces of colonial origin of Santo Domingo, which were from the North, South and West. But under the leadership of Toussaint Louverture, the provinces became departments.

The 10th Nippes department was created in 2003 after the division of the Grand’Anse department.

This would be consulted in a plebiscite in the Dominican people in a period not exceeding 5 months to make the final decision.

All conditions will be explained during a meeting next week of the United Nations.
