A federal grand jury in the District of Columbia Indicted Germine Joly, 29, Tuesday for his role he played in the kidnapping of 16 Americans and 1 Canadian citizen that took place in October last year just outside of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
Last week, Yonyon was extradited from Haiti’s prison where he was held on international arrest warrant for his part of negotiating a ransom of $17 million for the release of the American missionaries captured after visiting an orphanage, the report said.
He is considered to be one of the top decision makers of the 400 marozo kidnapping gang organization. Yonyon is scheduled to make a court appearance next week. It is not known if he has obtained an attorney to represent him.
“Today’s indictment demonstrates that the United States will not tolerate crime against our citizens, here or abroad.”, says Federal Bureau of Investigations Director Christpher Wray.
