Whatsapp with Brazil? They blocked the WhatsApp app!!!!
Yo! The Brazilian government have taken action and shuts down the the country’s mostly used app, WhatsApp. According to reports, all communications was down overnight early Thursday morning.
With the population just over 200 million, 90 million users depends on WhatsApp to communicate. But A judge in Sao Paolo court have decided to block the app for 48-hours since the company failed to cooporate in a criminal investigation.
Whatsapp parent company Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg released a statement on Facebook regarding brazil decision. “This is a sad day for Brazil. Until today, Brazil has been an ally in creating an open Internet. Brazilian has always been among the most passionate in sharing their voice online”, Zuckerberg said. ” I am stunned that our efforts to protect people’s data would result in such an extreme decision by a single judge to punish every person in Brazil who uses WhatsApp.”
