You heard it right! Naomi Osaka‘s coach from when she was only 13 is coming after his share for a contract that was allegedly singed between him and her father. At some point at that time, the coach claimed Osaka’s father signed a contract for him to receive 20 percent for life if Osaka became successful.
According to a report by TMZ, the coach in question is called Cristophe Jean stated in his lawsuit that Naomi’s father, Leonard Francois, hired him back in 2011 to coach his daughters. Now that she is 21 and independent, Osaka calling the claim ‘Absurd’.
Jean is claiming Francois who couldn’t afford to pay his rate at the time, signed and agreed to compensate him 20 percent of his daughters tennis prize money ”for lifetime”.
Osaka has already obtained a lawyer, Alex Spiro, to look into this unusual lawsuit because there is no way she’s going to pay her ex-coach for something she nothing to do with. ” While it comes as no surprise that Naomi’s meteoric rise as an international icon and inspiration would lead to some false claim, this silly ‘contract’ that Naomi never saw or signed — which purports to give away part of herself at the age of 14 — is particularly absurd….this case has no merit and we will move past it ” Spiro says.
